Super Smash Brothers Melee is the sequel to the insanely fun N64 game, Super Smash Brothers. This time around, the game is packed with all types of modes ranging from the original game's classic mode to Adventure Mode. In adventure mode you still fight, but you go through recreations of some of the old-school Nintendo games like Zelda and Mario. Some other cool additions are Trophies and Event Matches. For fighting Vs. matches or defeating classic mode you get coins, which you redeem, via a lottery, for trophies of Nintendo characters and other Nintendo stuff. There are 300 trophies in all and some of them show characters that never made it to the U.S. Event, matches are basically Vs. matches but with special stipulations such as only defeating Nana of the Ice Climbers. There are over 20 levels and over 20 characters each with there own moves. Obviously because of the hardware the graphics are much better and the character animation is very smooth and there is a lot of interaction with the levels. Plus there are tons of items to use in battle. The music is nice, with it being different for each level and the sound effects fit right in as well. The controls are intuitive but will take a little getting used to. So if you have a GameCube Super Smash Brothers: Melee is a must have.
Graphics- 8.5 The graphics have very nice textures and smooth animations-just check out slow motion mode and see!
Sound- 9 All the music (Zelda, Mario) sounds exactly what they sound like in their respective game, and all the sound effects are excellent.
Control- 8 All the controls are easy to learn, but trying to do a smash attack can be very hard at times.
Replay- 9.5 There are a ton of things to unlock, like almost 300 trophies of nintendo things. There is also more than 20 characters, with newcomers like Marth, Gannondorf, and Pichu.
Overall- 9.2 There are tons of things to do in this game and it's only better when played with other people.

First of all this game isn't just rehash of the N64 version (which was awesome). Super Smash Bros. Melee has tons of new characters, modes, and trophies. When i got this game i played it and couldn't stop with all the characters and trophies that i wanted to unlock. To this day i still don't have all the trophies. Old school Nintendo fans as well as new ones will love this game for its great gameplay and features, and well known characters. The Graphics on this game are magnificent and the replay value couldn't be higher. This game can get frusterating (did i spell that right?) at times especially on Very Difficult mode. .
Graphics-9.0-The levels and the characters are very highly detailed.
Sound-8.5-The sound effects music are good.
Control-8.0- I had little trouble moving the characters around the screen.
Replay-10-This game has endless amounts of things to do.
Overall:9.5- This game delivers a great fighting game with all of Nintendo's biggest stars. This is the Must Have Game for Gamecube!
